ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION IN DIPLOMA AND UG COURSES
For admission in D.V.P. course :-
- Citizenship: The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Age- Not less than 17 years and not more than 32 years as on 31st December of the year of application. There shall be a relaxation of the upper age limit by maximum 3 (three) years for SC/ST/OBC-A & B candidates.
- The candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- The candidate must pass Higher Secondary ( 10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in science stream from any recognized Board/ Council from any institution.
- The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examinations with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the above four subjects in regular class mode.
- The candidate must obtain at least 45 % marks (40 % in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in above four subjects taken together.
- The selection of students for admission will be done as per merit list without any Entrance Examination. The merit list will be prepared according to percentage of total marks obtained in the subjects of H.S. or it's equivalent examinations as stated above.
- Students of the Vocational stream or Open schooling are not eligible for the course.
For admission in B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme :-
- Citizenship: The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Age- Not less than 17 years and not more than 25 years as on or before 31st December of that year of admission. There shall be a relaxation of the upper age limit by maximum 5 (five) years for SC/ST/OBC-A & B candidates.
- The candidate must qualify and obtain a rank in the NEET-UG-2020 conducted by NTA.
- The candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- The candidate must pass Higher Secondary ( 10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in science stream from any recognized Board/ Council from any institution.
- The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examinations from any recognized Board/ Council with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the above four subjects in regular class mode.
- The candidate must obtain 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English taken together for unreserved category and 47.5 % in case of reserved category candidates.
For admission in B.F.Sc. programme :-
- Citizenship: The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Age- Not less than 17 years as on 31st December in the year of application.
- The candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- The candidate must pass Higher Secondary ( 10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in science stream from any recognized Board/ Council from any institution.
- The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the above four subjects in regular class mode.
- The candidate must obtain at least 50 % marks (40 % in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in above four subjects taken together.

- Citizenship: The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Age- Not less than 17 years as on 31st December in the year of application.
- The candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- The candidates must qualify in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Engineering/ Technology (WBJEE) conducted by WBJEEB.
- The candidate must pass Higher Secondary ( 10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in science stream from any recognized Board/ Council from any institution.
- The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the above four subjects in regular class mode.
- The candidate must obtain at least 50 % marks (40 % in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in above four subjects taken together.

SC-22%, ST-6%, OBC-A-10%, OBC-B-7%, VCI Nominee-15% for B.V.Sc. & A.H. Course and ICAR Nominee-15% for B.F.Sc. & B.Tech. (D.T.) courses, Person with Disability (PwD)-5%*. 01 (one) seat each also reserved for GTA nominee for all the UG courses.
* As the reservation for Person with Disability (PwD) is on horizontal basis, the selected candidate will be placed in the appropriate category i.e. General, SC, ST, OBC-A and OBC-B to which candidate belong.
Mode of admission is through counseling of the eligible candidates from the merit list of WBUAFS/WBJEEB ranks (wherever applicable).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION IN PG AND Ph.D. PROGRAMMES
For admission in Postgraduate programmes in the University like, M.V.Sc., M.Tech. and M.F.Sc. courses, the candidates has to secure minimum of 6.2 Overall Grade Point Average (O.G.P.A.) for general category & 6.0 for SC, ST, OBC-A & OBC-B, PwD categories in 10 point scale in their B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Tech. (D.T.) & B.F.Sc. courses. Besides, they are to appear in the written test examination conducted by the University and the Interview Boards of the department for Personal Interviews for final selection.
Similarly, for selection of the Ph.D. candidates in the three faculties, they have to secure minimum of 6.75 Overall Grade Point Average (O.G.P.A.) in the respective Master's Degree disciplines. Besides for selection of candidates, they are to appear in the written examinations conducted by the University and the Interview Boards of the department for Personal Interviews for final selection.
RESERVATION OF SEATS
SC-22%, ST-6%, OBC-A-10%, OBC-B-7%, ICAR Nominee-25%., Person with Disability (PwD)-5%*. There is no separate quota for In-service candidates.
* As the reservation for Person with Disability (PwD) is on horizontal basis, the selected candidate will be placed in the appropriate category i.e. General, SC, ST, OBC-A and OBC-B to which candidate belong.
